Francisco Carlos Fogaça has a Doctor’s and a Master’s degree in Language Studies (focus on language teacher education) from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL) Brazil, and a BA in Portuguese and English Languages from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. He is currently a Professor at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), Brazil, where he teaches Applied Linguistics and Qualitative Research in Applied Linguistics to graduate students; English (speaking and writing) and Culture and Foreign Languages Teaching in Public Schools to undergraduate students. His research interests include communities of practice and second/foreign language teacher education, critical literacy and cultural studies in language teaching/learning. Professor Fogaça worked for several years as a director, academic coordinator and teacher trainer at a private English language institution in Brazil (Yázigi) where he was also the co-author of several EFL course books.
