Campus Network Upgrade - January 12 - 14, 2026

Overview

Information Technology Services (ITS) will upgrade network equipment in the following buildings (in order): Business Building, Psychology/Ethnic Studies, and Burk Hall. The schedule is as follows:

  • January 12 (Monday) – Business Building, 7 am–8 am
  • January 13 (Tuesday) – Psychology/Ethnic Studies, 7 am–8 am
  • January 14 (Wednesday) – Burk Hall, 7 am–8 am

 

Benefit

These upgrades will increase backbone bandwidth to 10 Gbps for each building.

 

What Can You Expect

Internet connectivity for the entire building will go down during the changeover; full connectivity should be restored within 30 minutes.

Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 / Human Resources (HR) 9.0 Production Downtime – Friday, January 2, 2026, 8 p.m. to Midnight

Overview 

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for the campus PeopleSoft platforms - Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 and Human Resources (HR) 9.0. The downtime will occur on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while a maintenance pack upgrade is applied. 

 

Benefit

This update includes several improvements and fixes:

  • Retrofits for the CS Image 36 project.
  • Correction for SFA_ISIR_CONT.ISIR_TXN_NBR to fix COBOLs (FAP00SLD.cbl) and correct NSLDS-ISIR-YEAR.
  • Hardcoding HTTP 1.1 following Linux upgrade.
  • Enhancements to the Direct Deposit module, including batch inactivation, batch administrative deletion, fixes to the Create NACHA run control, and an updated JPG check image for student self-service.

 

What to Expect 

Both Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • Gator Scheduler
  • Accept Admission Offer

Network Unavailable in Hensill over Weekend - Friday, December 5 - Monday, December 8, 2025

Overview 

Over the weekend, Information Technology Services (ITS) will shut down the wired and wireless networks in Hensill Hall due to power systems maintenance and testing. 

 

Benefit 

This work will protect network equipment from power surges.

 

What Can You Expect 

The wired and wireless networks in Hensill Hall will be unavailable from Friday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m. through Monday, December 8, at 7 a.m.

Oracle Database Maintenance - Friday, December 12 – Sunday, December 14, 2025

Overview 

Information Technology Services (ITS) will apply a critical Oracle patch to the FPPRD and FWPRD databases from Friday, December 12, at 5 p.m. through Sunday, December 14, at 5 p.m. These essential security updates help protect our data and ensure system integrity. During this maintenance window, there will be an interruption to all services connected to the Oracle databases.  

 

Benefits 

Upgrading the FPPRD and FWPRD databases will strengthen security and ensure the continued protection of SFSU data.

Campus Wireless Service Maintenance (Friday, December 12, 2025)

Overview 

On Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10 p.m. until midnight, ITS will upgrade the campus wireless system, per vendor's recommendation.

This upgrade will reduce potential security vulnerabilities to the campus’s wireless network.

Overview

Information Technology Services (ITS) will apply monthly Windows security and critical updates on Windows servers from Saturday, December 13, at 6 p.m. through Sunday, December 14, at 10 a.m., 2025. The latest Windows security patches fix vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software, reducing the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers. 

 

What Can You Expect

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server reboots. Each server will be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

What Can You Expect 

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each service is rebooted. Each service is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes.

Overview 

Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform required security maintenance on the San Francisco State University (SFSU) OneCard system, on Friday, November 24, 2025,from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The OneCard system and Transact will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

This upgrade will enhance both the security and reliability of the OneCard and Transact systems.
