OneCard System Maintenance (Thursday, May 30th, 8 – 9 p.m.)

Overview

ITS will be performing required maintenance on the SFSU OneCard system, which resides at SF State, on Thursday, May 30th, from 8 to 9 p.m. The OneCard system will be unavailable during this time.

 

Benefit: This upgrade will improve both security and reliability of the OneCard system.

 

What Can You Expect

 

The SFSU OneCard system and various Integrations will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

 

Integrated systems which could be impacted include: 

  • Campus Meal Plans 
  • eAccounts 
  • Fill Stations 
  • Flowbird (Parking Lot Kiosk System) 
  • Follett Bookstore System 
  • Innosoft Fusion 
  • Micros Systems (Cash Registers) 
  • OneCard Clipper Integration 
  • Online Photo Submission 
  • Pinnacle Door Control updates (doors will still function, but no changes can be made to the system) 
  • Sequoia Systems (Cash Registers) 
  • Sodexo updates 
  • StarRez updates 
  • Transact Mobile Ordering 
  • TruCredential (for ID Card creation)

Oracle Database Maintenance (Friday, May 24, 2024, 5 p.m. – Saturday, May 25, 2024, 5 p.m.)

Overview

Beginning Friday, May 24, 2024, ITS will apply critical Oracle patches to the OIMPRD and IRDMPRD databases. These critical security updates ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will run until Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. During the patch process, there will be a brief interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases. 

 

Benefit: Upgrading the Oracle OIMPRD and IRDMPRD will ensure our databases remain secure. 

 

What Can You Expect

The following applications and services will not be available during upgrading: 

 

• Budget AO - Executive Dashboard (Tableau Cloud)

• Division of Student Life (DSL) GatorX DataMart

• Metro College Data Feed to SalesForce Cloud

• Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) Data Feed to InfoED Cloud

• The Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) Provisioning system

• University Advancement CRM DataMart (BlackBaud Cloud)

• WebFocus reporting services - Dept of IR

Avaya Workplace Softphone Maintenance (Monday, May 13, 2024, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.)

Overview

Avaya Workplace will conduct a maintenance window on Monday, April 29, from 7 – 10 p.m. to collect the finest logs from the AADS servers.

 

 

What Can You Expect

This maintenance window may impact some Avaya Workplace softphone users. During the log collection, users will not be able to log in to the Avaya Workplace softphone app. All users who were already logged in prior to the maintenance window will not be affected and can process and receive calls normally. There will be no impact on desk phone users or voicemail.

Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 Production Downtime (Monday, May 13, 2024, 8:00 p.m. – midnight)

Overview

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtown maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platform Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2. This downtime will occur on Monday, May 13, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a patch.

 

Benefit: This patch will resolve a Financial Aid issue from April 26's maintenance patch.

 

What Can You Expect

Campus Solutions (CS) will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include: 

 

- Accept Admission Offer 

- CPaGE Quick Admit 

- Gator Scheduler

Monthly Windows Update (Saturday, May 18, 2024, 6 p.m.-midnight)

Overview 

ITS will apply monthly Windows security and critical updates on Windows servers on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 6 p.m. to midnight. The latest Windows security patches fix vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.  

 

What Can You Expect 

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server reboots. During the maintenance window, each server will be unavailable for less than 10 minutes.

OnBase Oracle Database Upgrade (Friday, May 17, 2024, 5 p.m. - Sunday, May 19, 2024, 5 p.m.)

Overview

ITS will upgrade the OnBase Production Oracle Database at 5 p.m. Friday, May 17, and conclude the upgrade and testing/verification by 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024.

 

Benefit: Increased security, support, and preparation for future OnBase upgrades.

 

What Can You Expect

OnBase will be unavailable during the upgrade. At 5 p.m. Friday, any active users will be disconnected. OnBase will be back up and working by 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Campus Wireless Service Maintenance (Saturday, May 4, 2024)

Overview

On Saturday, May 4, ITS will upgrade the wireless controller to resolve known vulnerabilities per the vendor's recommendation. 
 

Benefit 

The upgrade will reduce security vulnerabilities on the Campus Wireless Network. 
 

What Can You Expect 

Campus Wi-Fi service will be down during the maintenance window between 5 am and 7 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Campus Solutions (CS) & Human Resources (HR) Production Downtime (April 26, 2024, 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Overview

The Chancellor's Office, along with Unisys and AWS (Amazon Web Services), has scheduled an emergency downtime maintenance window for both campus PeopleSoft platforms (Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR)). The downtime will occur on Friday, April 26th, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. while they work on patching a fix to resolve a connection timeout error.

 

Benefit: This patch will resolve connection timeout errors that users are experiencing in Campus Solutions and Human Resources after AWS migration.

 

 

What Can You Expect

Wi-Fi Authentication Service Certificate Renewal (Friday, May 3, 2024)

Overview

On Friday, May 3, 2024, ITS will update the certificate on the Wi-Fi client authentication system.

 

 

Benefit: The current certificate utilized on the Wi-Fi authentication system will expire soon, and not replacing it may cause an interruption of service.

 

 

What Can You Expect

Wi-Fi clients may receive a new certificate notification message. Before the Wi-Fi connection is established, users must accept the new certificate when prompted.
